He said, "What? You mean 10 litres per 100km."
I proceeded to tell him that I don't do it that way. I mean really -- who cares what kind of mileage (kilometreage?) you get over 100km? I sure don't drive 100km in one shot on a regular basis, so why would I care how much gas it takes me to do it?I do, however, watch the price of gas rise and fall on a daily basis. The price of what? The price per litre, of course!
So doesn't it make more sense to figure out how far your car goes on the $1.03 you spend for every litre? That way you can calculate how much it costs for just about everywhere you go.
$1.03 each way to work.
$2.57 to say hi to Mom & Dad.
$220 round trip to Oil & Beef Country.
Now that makes sense! So change your thinking, price out your lifestyle, and buck the auto companies' way of hiding your cost of driving.

I filled my car today and watched the pumps as the dollar amount moved faster than the litres going in. At the end of the day I really don't care. I just miss the days of filling the civic back a few years ago for 22 bucks which now costs 42... eeks. Sorry to all the Escalade owners out there.
